Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles - Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
It is not a secret that Todd Bowles and the Buccaneer fan base clash every single year. The fan base loves to point the finger, and the easiest target is the head coach. Bowles has orchestrated a top-tier defense since his tenure began in Tampa Bay. He was the mastermind behind the defensive schemes that ended with a hoisting of the Lombardi Trophy. That Super Bowl victory also includes keeping the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs out of the end zone. After the Super Bowl Championship, Bruce Arians and the front office handed Coach Bowles the keys to the castle on March 30, 2022.
He has consistently kept the Buccaneers in the playoff race with his defensive play-calling. We have made the playoffs every year since 2020. I know that we can sit back and critique every play call that Bowles has made, but there are also several teams that would gladly take a 4-year playoff run that includes a Lombardi. So, let’s just sit back and enjoy the ride because the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
