Not a big surprise
The Linebacker’s option for next season (2025) will not be picked up by One Buc. (per Greg Auman, Fox Sports)
JTS started out fairly well upon his arrival in Tampa. After that, the production just hasn’t been there.
He has never broken the 50 tackles or 10 stops for a loss mark in any season.
Early on, it seemed like he was in line to be a steady player. It just never materialized for him here. So, JTS will play one more season here and become a free agent in 2025.
It remains to be seen if Tryon-Shoyinka can hold down the starting spot at OLB. The play of incoming rookie Chris Braswell will have a lot to do with that.
Good luck to you, JTS, for this season and beyond — wherever you may end up. Go Bucs!!
As expected, Bucs will not be exercising the fifth-year option for 2021 first-round pick OLB Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Would have been $13.2 million for 2025. He has totaled 13 sacks in three seasons.
