All I can say is that it’s about damn time! Ronde Barber deserved to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame several years ago! Barber is one of the best cornerbacks in the history of the NFL, no doubt about it! Now, it is finally official! His bust will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio, forever!

I couldn’t be more excited for Ronde! Over the years, although I’m sure he was confident that he would eventually get the call to the Hall one day, it must have been very stressful and extremely nerve-wracking, having to wait his turn and being a finalist so many times, only to be passed up in the end.

Worry no more, Ronde! Your wait is over! You are officially an NFL Hall of Famer! Congratulations! You get your gold jacket, and it is well deserved! To this day, my favorite memory of him is the game-winning, game-sealing interception for the Bucs’ victory against the Eagles in the NFC Championship to shut down Veterans Stadium.

Here are Ronde’s career stats: 16 seasons, 241 games, starting in 232 of them, 47 interceptions for 923 yards, 8 INT’s returned for a touchdown, 197 passes defended, 15 forced fumbles, 12 fumbles recovered, 4 fumbles returned for a touchdown, 1 punt return for a touchdown, 28 sacks, 1,251 tackles (1,044 solo, 207 assisted), 88 tackles for loss, 18 QB hits, selected the Pro Bowl 5 times, First Team All-Pro 3 times, Second Team All-Pro 2 times, came in 7th place in the 2007 NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year voting
