According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, William Gholston has agreed to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one more season. Jeremy Fowler reported first that the team and Gholston were nearing a deal that would keep the veteran defensive lineman with the Bucs for one more season. Will Gholston himself also stated that he was back.

We originally heard from one of our sources prior to him taking off for vacation last month that when he returned from his vacation, he would meet with multiple teams, and he did; however, the lure of Tom Brady’s return and the possibility of making another run at a Super Bowl ring will keep the veteran here for one more year.

During his 9 seasons with the Buccaneers, Gholston has played in 136 games recording 19.5 sacks, 352 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumbles recovered, and 12 passes defended.

His presence on the line means a lot more to the team and the run defense than most give him credit —  Just a couple of years ago, some media and fans were asking the question, “Why is Will Gholston still a Buc?” I think you know why.
