Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed wide receiver Mike Evans on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Evans missed the Bucs 32-6 win on Sunday in Carolina with a hamstring injury. Several COVID cases popped up around the National Football League, and the Buccaneers have been hit with cases also. This season Evans has 64 receptions and 899 receiving yards, and he also leads the Bucs with 11 touchdowns.

COVID has impacted the NFL this season and forced several games to be rescheduled before Christmas. The Buccaneers have had other players that have had to deal with COVID this season, such as the hero of the Bills win Breshad Perriman. A Bucs coach tested positive on their way back from Charlotte in wide receivers coach Kevin Garver.

The Buccaneers would like to get Mike Evans back for the playoffs, and having Antonio Brown back against the Panthers really helped a lot. I thought that having Rob Gronkowski was plenty for Brady, but it takes a team of talented wide receivers like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. There has been another wide receiver that has dealt with injuries like Scotty Miller, who I thought would be the one that would fill in if there were injuries.

There are just two more games left on the regular-season schedule and despite the veteran wide receiver needing just one negative test to return*, if I were Bruce Arians, I would want to wait until Mike Evans is healthy to return. COVID has been nothing been disruption, and we all want it to go away, but the best that we all can do is pray.
