Are you ready Bucs fans? You’ve waited a long time for this opportunity! The opportunity for a home playoff game awaits! The Buccaneers (10-3) take on the Saints (6-7) with their sights set on capturing the NFC South title. A Bucs win over the Saints would secure the team’s first division crown since 2007. As Bruce Arians says, it’s a “t-shirt and hat game.” Will the Bucs have smooth sailing to celebrate at home with their fans or will New Orleans pull off another upset and keep their playoff hopes alive?

The Bucs are 11.5-point home favorites. Coming into the game Sunday night, the Bucs are winners of 4 straight. Since the two teams’ meeting on Halloween, the Saints have only won once and that win came against the New York Jets. The Bucs are a perfect 6-0 at home on the season look to continue that success. In fact, Tampa’s offense is best at home. The Bucs have scored at least 30 points in every home game. If the Bucs score 30 or more points against the Saints Sunday night, they will become the first team in NFL history to score at least 30 points in each of their first 7 home games.

Bucs fans would like to not think about that dreadful Halloween loss to the Saints in New Orleans, where Tampa was decimated with their own mistakes. However, Tom Brady hasn’t forgotten, and he still isn’t too happy about it. You can count on him using it as motivation. When talking to the media this week about the Saints, Brady said, “P.J. Williams picked me off there in the last game, that still kind of pisses me off, probably six weeks later.” Brady still has his performance from the first meeting in the back of his mind heading into the rematch. He knows the Saints have had his number since joining the Bucs, but the two teams are heading in opposite direction since then.

The Saints will also be without Sean Payton Sunday night due to a positive COVID-19 test. The defensive coordinator for the Saints, Dennis Allen, will step into the head coaching role for the game. Taysom Hill has struggled since becoming a starter, so not having his head coach will not do him any favors.

All this should be set up as a recipe for a Bucs victory.

The forecast: Generally calm waters
