Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians addressed several members of media live on various social media networks this Monday afternoon; he gave a little insight into the status of Jamel Dean and William Gholston. If you recall, Dean left Week 13’s contest in Atlanta early in the game and was evaluated for a concussion. Dean is currently in concussion protocol; however, there is a chance that the third-year cornerback could come out of protocol in time for next week’s home game against the Buffalo Bills. Jamel Dean is also suffering from a shoulder injury that he sustained in week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts — no structural damage was reported, and that is why he played in Atlanta last week.
Buccaneers veteran defensive lineman William Gholston has an injury to his patellar tendon, which is a tendon that attaches the bottom of the kneecap to the top of the shinbone — that sounds very painful. As for the extent of the injury, that is not yet known; however, being the type of injury, however slight it may be, it could result in him needing to sit out of one or two games. Although, I do believe you will see the veteran defensive lineman tough it out and join the defensive line in Week 14, defending the house against the visiting Buffalo Bills.
