The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

On Saturday, the team has announced that they are elevating (WR) Cyril Grayson and (TE) Deon Yelder from the practice squad to the active roster.

The move to activate these two does not come as a surprise. The tightened position suffered its fair share of hits as Rob Gronkowski has been down for the count the past few weeks with fractured ribs. He will miss this week’s contest. O.J. Howard has an ankle injury, and with him being listed as questionable, the Buccaneers may need an extra body in a hurry.

(WR) Cyril Grayson’s elevation is a necessary one as the Buccaneers will be without Antonio Brown this week. Although Grayson isn’t likely to see many targets, he is a great player to come in and give a member of the starting unit a rest.

Deon Yelder has been in the league for 4 seasons. He was signed by the Saints in 2018 as an undrafted free agent and released at the end of the team’s training camp. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played for 3 seasons, seeing action in 26 games, recording 10 receptions for 86 yards. He was released early in the 2021 offseason. Yelder had signed with multiple teams as a tryout guy: The Washington Football Team, the Tennesee Titans, before signing with the Buccaneers in September.

Cyril Grayson has been in the league for 5 seasons. Grayson is fast. He runs a 4:33 in the forty and was a track star at LSU. He took a brief tour of the NFL starting in 2017 with the Seattle Seahawks, Colts (2017) Seattle Seahawks (2017), Texans (2018), Bears (2018 and 2019: practice squad /future reserve), Saints (2019), and Cowboys (2019) before signing with the Buccaneers in December of 2019. He has played in 5 games for the Bucs, recording 1 reception for 3 yards. He has also returned 1 kick for 20 yards.
