Davis was waived before the Buccaneers facing the Patriots in New England and did not clear waivers. He was quickly snatched up by the Indianapolis Colts. Davis had a handful of interested organizations during his brief stay on the waiver wire.
New Colts DT Khalil Davis was a very popular player on waivers, as Indy, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and the Chargers all attempted to claim him.
The Colts had top priority, but Davis was *this* close to joining his twin brother Carlos on the Steelers.

The Pittsburg Steelers were interested in the young defensive tackle out of Nebraska, so he almost joined his brother Carlos who is also a defensive tackle. The Indianapolis Colts pounced on the opportunity.
Davis was drafted in the 6th round of the 2020 NFL Draft and played in only one game in 2020. He recorded just 2 combination tackles. The 2nd year DT out of Nebraska had a solid collegiate career, recording 13 sacks, 105 total tackles, 24 for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumbles recovered, and 3 passes defended in 36 games throughout 4 seasons.
