Bucs vs Falcons: Let the streak continue

The Bucs were surely expected to make a run in the playoffs prior to the 2020 season. After the loss to the Chiefs in the regular season, the Bucs were sitting on a 7-5 record. Certainly not the end of the road, but I remember feeling concerned at that point. I really couldn’t see us storming into the “at home” Super Bowl and blowing out the AFC Champion — (these same Chiefs).

Honestly, I did not envision the way that the Bucs would be transformed following their bye in week 13. As it turned out, the Buccaneers would not lose another game and are still undefeated. It is the longest win streak in team history. The Buccaneers standing on the heels of a *9-game win-streak, host the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. The team will look to continue their streak to 10.

*Includes last season, playoffs, and now the 2021 season.

Atlanta is probably not as bad as the Eagles’ beatdown suggests. Look for them to rebound, getting tight end Kyle Pitts more involved, and wide receiver Calvin Ridley should also be looking for a rebound game against the Bucs. However, the Buccaneers will be looking to make a statement against their division rivals. What kind of message, you may ask? “This is our division now.”

There’s been a changing of the guard in the NFC South — although I am pretty sure that the Saints do not see it that way and will do everything possible on Halloween afternoon to re-establish their dominance over the Buccaneers and the division. The Falcons, with a new coach and the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history (Kyle Pitts), will look to forget last week’s beat down and seek to make a statement of their own.

The Buccaneers will not be having any of that.

Look for the Bucs to further expose the holes in the Falcon’s lineup to the tune of 38-24. My feeling here; is that with Murphy-Bunting still out, the Falcons will take advantage of that situation and have some luck on offense in an overall losing effort. So for the Buccaneers, the winning streak continues, advancing from 9 games to 10, and the Falcons, well; are what we think they are.
