The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing musical chairs once again with their roster to help with an injury-depleted offensive line, this time claiming first-year tackle Brandon Walton from the Pittsburgh Steelers after being waived on Tuesday.

Walton, who hails from Largo, was a standout while at Florida Atlantic during his collegiate career. The 6’4, 311-pound lineman entered the league last season with the Buffalo Bills but was waived prior to the start of last season. He spent most of the year on the Steelers practice squad and signed a future/reserves contract with Pittsburgh for 2021, which could add some quality depth.

During his senior season at FAU, Walton played 12 games at left tackle during his senior season, earning him first-team All-Conference USA honors in 2019, also has experience at the right tackle position as well. In order to make room on the 85-man training camp roster, the Bucs waived/injured fourth-year safety Raven Greene, who signed with the team on May 5th after spending the previous three years with the Green Bay Packers.

This is the third offensive lineman the Bucs have signed in the last week, bringing back guard Earl Watford late last week along with signing tackle Jake Benzinger on Sunday.

If that wasn’t enough, the Bucs placed guard Sadarius Hutcherson on injured reserve while waiving center/injured center Donnell Stanley. On Wednesday, guard John Molchon left practice early with what appears to be a leg injury.
