The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will wear white and pewter uniform combination on Super Bowl Sunday despite the belief that they would follow in the tradition of our previous Super Bowl win and wear Red and Pewter. To me and many other fans, this is blasphemous; however, the Buccaneers are undefeated in the white jerseys this postseason, so I understand the meaning.
The Kansas City Chiefs have decided to don the red and white combination for Super Bowl Sunday, which may have led the Buccaneers to their decision; however, I believe that decision was ultimately made due to superstition.
Additionally, Jenna Laine of ESPN dropped an interesting tidbit, pointing out that 13 of the last 16 Super Bowls were won by teams wearing white and that Brady is 4-1 in the big show when wearing white himself.
Whether you drape yourself in a Red, White, or Creamsicle jersey on February the 7th, this game is a historic one and will be one that all eyes will be glued upon.
