Thank God the Giants don’t have LT!

Visions of Giants’ Linebacker Lawrence Taylor storming through the then sorry 1984 Bucs Offensive Line probably still haunt former Bucs QB Steve DeBerg!

Like a bunch of ”Crazed Dogs” … Taylor and that stellar Giants Defense surely had the roughest bite in the NFL during the 1980’s and 1990’s.

My how things have changed? Nowadays, the Giants are just happy to have an upright QB in Daniel Jones … their heir apparent to 2-time Super Bowl Champion Eli Manning.

The last time the Bucs & Giants met was at Raymond James Stadium in 2019 … Tampa Bay was ahead 28-10 at half-time, then blew that lead in the 2nd half and lost 32-31 in a heartbreaker for Bucs fans.

All-time, NYG leads the series with TB 16-7 and the Bucs have only won 3 of the last 10 meetings with New York.

Current NFL analysts are obviously taking the 5-2 Bucs to win on Monday Night easily over the 1-6 Giants. But I don’t think it’ll be a blowout like I’m hearing from a lot of Bucs fans on social media. I think the score will be closer than most people think.

Remember, Tom Brady and his old team the Patriots lost two Super Bowls to the Giants … so payback (even though he may not admit it) should be on his mind. Bad memories from losing those big games should motivate him, hopefully.

Oh, and let’s not forget about the Giants trading one of their best defensive linemen ever to the Bucs in 2017 … Linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul, who’s got payback on his mind. “I’m going to destroy the Giants,” Pierre-Paul said on Twitter this week. It’d be nice for him and the Bucs Defense to get a few sacks on the young Jones, who tends to scramble a lot and has trouble running sprints down the field. LOL!

The match-up with the Bucs & Giants is a pretty good way to end the NFL slate this week. I’d be shocked if the Giants Offense scores more than 10 points. I’m seeing a Bucs Defensive TD and a 400+ passing day for Brady. One thing is for sure … Brady always shines on the biggest stage … Monday Night Football.
