Firstly, I’m not going to post anything political. This is my statement as BritBuc. I have a platform that I will use to the best of my ability, I don’t have any answers, and won’t pretend to. What I will say is that if the majority of people feel the world is broken, maybe we need to do what we can to fix it and not shy away from awkward conversations.
Now to football!
Fans across the country are excited to be getting closer to football. COVID restrictions are being relaxed from city to city, and many of the messages coming from the NFL is that camps are starting soon. This will be the first glimpse of new-look rosters, marquee free agent signings, rookies and new coaches. It’s the favourite time of year for some fans who love to see teams going through their paces, ready to mount their campaign to hold the Vince Lombardi trophy at the end of the season.
As camps edge closer, the NFL issued a memo to teams. This memo stated that teams MUST STAY at their home locations and NOT travel for training camps. This will affect the teams that travel, thankfully the Buccaneers have the state of the art facility and are no longer traveling to Disney for the offseason.
What will affect the Bucs is the cancellation of the joint practices between them and the Jacksonville Jaguars, which was scheduled for the summer.
Undoubtedly many fans will be disappointed by this as joint practices give fans something different to talk about, and there are always moments where things get a little snippy between athletes who don’t know the meaning of half speed.
