The Rams have released OLB and pass rusher Clay Matthews, and that now makes him a free agent. I’m sure most Buccaneer fans would have no problem if the Bucs do decide to sign the former Pro Bowler and All-Pro, but his skills have diminished considerably since Matthews was in his prime.
In his day, Matthews was arguably one of the best pass-rushing 3-4 OLB in the league with 10 sacks his rookie year, but the most sacks he’s had in the last 3 years is 8, and that was in 2019. So should the Bucs sign Matthews?? For the right price, sure he would make a great proven rotational pass rusher behind Shaq Barrett and JPP, but his best days are behind him.
