Chris Godwin Hires New Agent

Earlier in the 2019 season, coach Arians touched on Godwin and what we can expect from him at the 2019 Annual League meeting. “I think Chris Godwin is gonna be close to a 100 catch guy,” said Arians. He also went on to say that a big reason he feels that way is because Godwin can play in the slot position. Godwin suffered a hamstring injury that ended his 2019 season, however, the fact that he has not played a snap since December 15, 2019, and is ranked 3rd among all NFL wide receivers speaks volumes to his ability. Mike Evans, is only ranked 13th. The third-year receiver may have finished the season early, but he still managed to haul in with 86 receptions on 121 targets for 1,333 yards and 9 touchdowns, earning him PFF’s top grade of 90.7. Godwin has one year left on his rookie contract but is due to receive an extension, and he could get that extension sometime this offseason.

According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, Chris Godwin has changed his agent to Tory Dandy of CAA Sports’ NFL Division, a company known for their expertise in contract negotiations.

With the possibility of a major extension ahead, Bucs receiver Chris Godwin has changed agents. Was with Eugene Lee since before draft, now with CAA and Tory Dandy. Godwin is an unrestricted free agent in 2021, eligible for an extension now. Made his first Pro Bowl in 2019.

Godwin will fetch a large contract, so Tampa working on that now may be in the best interests of their pocket moving forward.
