Buccaneers inside linebacker coach, Mike Caldwell has been named as head coach for the East team this year. Formerly known as the East-West Shrine Game as recently as 2019, this event allows college seniors to display their skills in front of potential NFL team suitors.
Caldwell started his first season with the Buccaneers in 2019, following a 4-year stint as assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach with the New York Jets, under then, head coach and now Buccaneers Defensive Coordinator, Todd Bowles. While with the Jets, the defense was credited with setting a franchise record for holding opposing teams to just 83.4 yards per game average.
Along with Caldwell coaching the East team, is the addition of Buccaneers assistant coaches are Offense Assistant coach Antwaan Randle El, who will be the East team’s wide receiver coach, and Buccaneers Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach, Chad Wade, who will carry a similar role for the East team.
