The curse continues
When the news broke that the Giants were going to start Daniel Jones over Eli Manning broke early last week, Bucs defensive players were licking their chops. Well after a 32-31 loss, the defense may have been fed, but their food eventually got away with a win.
2019 6th overall pick made the Bucs defense feel flashbacks; lighting them up 23/36 for 336 yards and 2 scores through the air and 28 yards and 2 scores, although he was sacked 5 times.
The game was won in the hands of the rookie
In a game that seen the Bucs contain Barkley well enough that he left in the first half with a high ankle injury, the 2nd half seemed to be the the Daniel Jones Show as the rookie connected with tight end Evan Engram for a 75-yard score right out of the gate and hit Sterling Sheppard for the 2-point conversion. Jones scored his 2nd rushing touchdown of the day to put the Giants ahead, ultimately proving to be the game-winning drive that gave both Jones and the Giants their first win of the season.
What does this mean going forward? Is Jones the real deal or are the Bucs just cursed when it comes to facing a fresh face under center?
Congrats though to the kid on his play and win. He definitely shined.
