Week 3 Prediction: Giants/Bucs
2 min read
This week the Bucs have a different type of challenge on their plate before their 49-day road trip, as Saquon Barkley and Co.(0-2) come to Ray Jay to square off against your very own Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) on Sunday.
Will history repeat itself?
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock this week, you’ve heard that the news that the Giants have benched Eli Manning and are going to start 2019 6th overall pick, Daniel Jones. If you’ve heard that news, you’ve also heard the talk of how rookie QB’s have been a nightmare for Bucs defenses in past years.
All things aside, this isn’t your typical Bucs D. In 2 games, they have only allowed 1 TD (week 1 pass touchdown) and bolstered 4 sacks. Their biggest headache will undoubtedly be, containing Barkley who managed 142 yards and 2 TDs the last time the 2 teams met.
Prediction: Bucs 24 Giants 18
The Bucs may have contained McCaffrey last week, but Barkley is a different animal and will score once. But, this is where Jameis and the offense will finally open up and blister the Giants defense. I’m predicting Winston to have his first 350+ yard game of 2019, tossing 3 TDs and 1 INT. Barber will find the endzone again against the Giants while rushing for 100+ yards.
This will also be the game that you see the Bucs D come away with at least 2 picks and 4 sacks (although not all will be by Barrett). As I mentioned, the Bucs will surrender their first rushing TD of the season (Barkley), but keep the ball out of the endzone via passing.
Tune in at Sunday at 4:05 pm to witness the action. (TV: Fox, Bucs Mobile App, Hulu Live Radio: 98Rock 97.9FM)
