Good News and Bad News for Sunday.

Starting off the season on the bench and not able to play due to injury is not something anyone wants to have happened to them, especially third-year man Justin Evans. But that’s exactly what will happen this Sunday. Evans is still missing practice with a nagging foot injury and will not be dressed for the season opener at home, against the 49ers. Another Evans missed practice today, Mike Evans, with a bit of an illness bug of sorts, but should be able to play Sunday. Either Way, Bruce Arians says the team is ready for a football game!
“Not playing will be Justin Evans and Blaine Gabbert. Mike Evans missed today with that bug that’s been running around. I thought it has been a really good week of preparation. Good tempo today. We’re ready for a ball game.”
Other than the setbacks with both of the Evans and Gabbert, Arians said the team is a lot healthier than they were just a few short weeks ago.
“Extremely healthy, yeah, from where we were three weeks ago.”
The football gods have smiled upon Vita Vea and he is ready to go on Sunday, but we told you this on Wednesday. Bruce Arians said he has maintained a great shape and will not be on any kind of snap count during the upcoming game.
“He’s fine. He’s stayed in shape. He came in great shape and maintained it. Nobody that is playing will be on any kind of snap count.”
Great news indeed as well as the news that Lavonte David is back and ready to go, although he could have returned during the preseason, but the coaches decided it was best if he sat those games out.
With the team only being down one safety who hasn’t played in a very long time, and a backup quarterback no fan in their right mind has faith in, the team seems poised to start the season with a bang!
