Vita Vea talks about his return to practice

2 min read

Vita Vea returned to practice and was glad to be back. Earlier in August, Vea suffered an LCL sprain that put fear into the hearts of everyone. Multiple MRI’s were done, and in conclusion, surgery was not needed. A collective sigh of relief could be heard for miles. He was due to miss up 6 weeks, not the regular season, but the preseason, but now Vea is back and ready to get back into the swing of things.

“Shoot, it felt great. It was fun being back out there after sitting out watching for the past couple weeks. It felt fun to actually get back out there and play and get into the swing of things.”

Of course, Vea is going to be much needed in the upcoming week one home opener against the San Francisco 49ers, and he knows exactly how important this week will be as the defensive unit begins to fit together.

“I feel like it is really important. We’ve just got to go out there and prove what we can do collectively as a defense, not individually. I feel like this is what the coaches have been preaching to us to work together, communicate and things like that. We will see Sunday how everything and fits and how the cookie crumbles from there. After that, we will fix it from there.”

The Buccaneers have been practicing vigorously and the coach fine-tuning his team all offseason and preseason, and now it’s time to go to work! time to defend our house!
