Last year Ronald Jones had a less than an effective season. His rookie year, let much to be desired by fans, the team, and even himself. However, it seems that this year is going to be different.

Nothing but positive reports has been coming out of AdventHealth Training Center. Jones packed on the muscle, gained confidence, and worked tirelessly to improve his game. He worked closely with running backs coach Todd McNair, who believes that last year’s issues were nerves. Jones and McNair worked on catching the football and other profitable techniques to help elevate Jones’ game. It looks like those efforts are starting to pay off.
Arians believes that Jones is going to perform very well this season.
“He’s an explosive player. He’s going to be a happening player. He’s going to make big plays like that. In terms of third-and-13 or 14, second down-and-16 – just finishing. I liked the way we ran a hurry-up after the long run and got a hurry up in, then he walked into the end zone. Those things are a good sign. He’s got that breakaway speed and size. His best runs so far have been tackle to tackle until that one.”– Per Scott Smith, senior writer, editor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Arians is confident in the Buccaneers running game and believes that Tampa will have a one-two punch that will be exciting, to say the least. Arians also hinted that the competition is so fierce between Jones and Barber, that the notion of Jones taking the number one spot from Barber is not far fetched.
“Oh yeah, it’s going to be a heck of a one-two punch. Whichever one’s the winner.” – Per Scott Smith, senior writer, editor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With all things considered, it sounds like the Buccaneers may just have a running game once again, and Arians is not one beat around the bush and will tell it like it is. There is much to be excited for in the upcoming season, and with preseason less than 10 days away, we will finally be able to witness some plays from the new playbook, giving us a sneak peek at this newly revamped offense and defense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hopefully, it will translate into more checks in the win column as fans are more than tired of the subpar seasons and losing when we know we can win.
