Bruce Arians’ Message to the fans.2 min read
Training Camp has begun at One Buc, and Bruce Arians is already off to an excellent start beginning his process as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In my opinion, to get off to terrific start is to get the fans on board and I think he already is.
“Come have fun. We’re going to have fun. It’s going to be different when we put the pads on. There will be a lot of hollering and screaming, and there won’t be any damn music. So you’ll hear some things. You know, maybe put some earplugs on the kids.”
Tampa Bay has not connected with a coach like they have done with Tony Dungy since Jon Gruden, but that was back in 2002. Honestly, it has been a long time since Raymond James Stadium has had an outstanding crowd of Bucs fans and in recent history, I think we all have noticed that small crowds have caused blackouts in the Tampa Bay area for Bucs games, but with a big-name coach in Bruce Arians I believe that is willing to change and I think that the fans just have to buy into what he is selling.
I have mentioned before that Bruce Arians is an accomplished head coach and he brings with him a proficient staff to Tampa Bay. The Bucs hopes of returning to the playoffs are low this season, but Bruce Arians is the type of coach that you have to give some time to and he is worth it. The Buccaneers gave Tony Dungy, one season and two seasons, and they were in the playoffs, and the Bucs were living a dream after all those years of a losing reputation from our beloved Bucs, but Coach Dungy put together a good draft class with Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp in 1995. Bruce Arians is already showing similarities by drafting Devin White in the 2019 NFL Draft and already having the right talent.
In Bruce Arians’ first season with the Bucs, I expect substantial improvement, but it should start first with Jameis Winston at quarterback. Having a better offense around him, and a better defense will most certainly help. But like I said with the drafting Devin White and signing Ndamukong Suh at defensive tackle the Bucs should be more improved. I hope this time around the Glazers have hired a coach that the fans can rely on, but not just winning football games, but also in the community and Bruce Arians has been known to do that.
