The Buccaneers Find Gold?

Could the situation brewing in New York get any worse? No, I am not talking about the Giants selecting Daniel Jones or the Knicks missing out on Zion Williamson. I am talking about the circus that is the New York Jets front office. The Jets hired Adam Gase this off-season and brought in highly touted running back Le’Veon Bell. All is good right? Wrong!

General Manager Mike Maccagnan was fired and Head Coach Adam Gase was settled with making decisions on the roster. This is madness, right? Maccagnan just drafted the future roster of the Jets, signed Le’Veon Bell, and hired Adam Gase. He signed free agents and moved on from other players. Some say he even caused some salary cap issues for the Jets, but that’s not even the weirdest thing coming out of New York. It has been rumored that Head Coach Adam Gase didn’t even want Le’Veon Bell in New York, so what does that mean for Bell going forward?

Let the saga begin again for the Buccaneers. I know we don’t have enough going on already. Clutchpoints.com gave a trade scenario that would help Tampa Bay land Le’Veon Bell from the Jets. I must say it doesn’t look half bad if it were to actually come to fruition. The Buccaneers would send a 2020 first-round pick, 2020 fifth round pick, and TE Cameron Brate to New York. This would eliminate Brate’s $40.8 million dollar contract. The Jets would return Le’Veon Bell and a 2020 fourth round pick. Let’s not forget Bell just signed a 4 year/$52 million deal with $35 million guaranteed. Obviously this is all a pipe dream, but Bucs fan can already see the dynamic trio of Bell, Barber, and RoJo in the backfield.

The Buccaneers coaching staff seem to be happy with Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones, but how could Bruce Arians not want a talent like Le’Veon Bell. The offense is already loaded with weapons: Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and O.J. Howard. If you give Jameis Winston a running back like Bell we could see record setting numbers coming out of Tampa Bay in 2019. I wouldn’t hold your breath Bucs fans, but maybe say a little prayer in hopes Bell is on the next Buccaneers ship to Tampa! Fire the Cannons!
