Breaking: Buccaneers sign Running Back Kerwynn Williams

The Buccaneers have signed Kerwynn Williams to their counsel of running backs.

William’s adds to the Buccaneers to a lengthy resume of teams. Drafted by the Colts in the 7th round in 2013 and made his NFL debut on September 2, 2013 after being promoted from practice squad to their active roster. He was signed by the Chargers in October of the same year and was released in 2014. He then went on to sign with the Arizona Cardinals later in 2014 and to date has been longest tenure with any team he’s signed with albeit he was waived and resigned several time during his stay.

He signed with Kansas City in April of 2018 but was waived in September.

He was picked up by the Buccaneers less than a week after being waived by Detroit per Around the NFL’s Herbie Teope.

While this may only be a depth or 90 man signing, it does add veteran competition to the RB position.

During his 5 seasons in the NFL, he carried the ball 218 times for 971 yards and 4 touchdowns.
