Bruce Arians spoke to media following minicamp yesterday. He said that he was excited to be back on the practice field and had a lot of fun.

“I was excited. I sat in the golf cart so long I couldn’t take it anymore, and I had to start talking to guys, but it was a lot of fun. Very excited.”

Mark Cook of Pewter Report said, “Arians was doing his best Bear Bryant impression, riding around in a golf cart, and observing his coaches working with the players.”

Arians had also spoken about Vita Vea’s talents and strengths that were on display during minicamp yesterday.

“Well, he can play three positions for sure. He can play five techniques, he can play three techniques and he can play nose. For him I had to say, ‘whoa’, I hate to say ‘sic ’em’, but I like saying ‘whoa’ and for him just ‘whoa, slow down right there, you don’t need to be knocking guys back into the quarterback today.’ He’s a very, very talented young man and does lots of things.”

Arians also seemed to be pleased with Jameis Winston’s performance yesterday.

“It’s amazing. He was getting to third and fourth reads quickly today. He was off his first read and it was not the easiest secondary to read. It was all a movement, quarters, single-high to man, and I was extremely pleased with that part of it. I don’t think the defense got their hands on any of his balls or Blaine balls.”

Whether or not the fact that the secondary did not get a hand on any of Winston or Gabbert’s passes is an indication of their ability or the secondary’s lack thereof, one thing is for certain; it is football time again in Tampa Bay.
