DE William Gholston’s time in Tampa has been lackluster to say the least. Although he is very good defending the run, he generates almost no pass rush whatsoever. Now we have a new defensive coordinator and with him a new defensive scheme.

Todd Bowles has made no bones about it, this defense will most likely be a 3-4 base defense, as opposed to the 4-3 base they have used more than 20 years. It is good news for Gholston, who at 6’6 280 lbs, is a perfect fit on this new defensive line.

Gholston is strong and athletic for his size, and he will definitely be a thorn in RBs sides as Gholston will close up the running lanes. He will be something to keep your eyes on this season. Look for Gholston to get a lot of playing time at LE.
