Don’t Expect Any More FA Signings

Opinion Editorial:
For those of you waiting for the Bucs to make some more moves in free agency, you can stop waiting it’s not likely going to happen. As a matter of fact, the only other moves you can expect them to make is to cut several more players in order to free up some more cap room. Players like, Gerald McCoy and Cameron Brate could be in serious danger of being released or traded.
The Bucs only have roughly $3.2 million in cap space, and that’s not even enough to sign this year’s drafted players, barring a trade involving the 5th overall pick. In order to sign this year’s draft class, they would have to free up at least $7 more million. Their first-round pick alone will cost around $5 million. The easiest solution to this problem would be to release McCoy or trade him as he currently has a $13 million cap hit. As much as I would hate to see McCoy go, it’s looking more and more likely that he could be released or traded before, or during the draft.
