Buccaneers Sign OLB Shaq Barrett

1 min read

The Buccaneers have signed Broncos former OLB Shaquil Barrett to a one-year $5 million contract. A cheap prove-it deal according to Adam Schefter.

Barrett could have received that kind of money or more, but he wanted the chance to start and he will have that in Tampa.

Barrett was signed by Denver as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and has recorded 137 tackles, 7 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 14.0 sacks.

If utilized in a specialty position, Shaq could prove to be a nightmare for defensive coordinators. Dwight Freeney comes to mind.
