Vita Vea Should Excel in Todd Bowles Defense

1 min read

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ran a 4-3 defense for 28 seasons. The change this upcoming season to a 3-4 defense is a huge move for the Buccaneers, and a lot different than what fans are used to, but one that will really give Vita a chance to shine.

Vea plays hard and plays with a mean streak, something we haven’t seen in Tampa Bay since Warren Sapp. Vita Vea won’t be doing it alone. Alongside Gerald McCoy, Jason Pierre-Paul and Carl Nassib this defensive line can be one of the best in the NFL next season.

New defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has been successful everywhere he’s been the defensive coordinator and been praised for “defenses that are based on guys and what their ability allows them to be good at, what they were drafted for stated” – former NFL player Darnell Dockett. That should be good news for Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, who are more than ready to see the late 90s style of Tampa defense make a return.
