There had been some doubts about the future of Gerald McCoy in Tampa. All of the doubts can be laid to rest. McCoy is not going anywhere.
The Buccaneers will be getting a new look to the defense and McCoy will be most likely asked to play out of position from time to time, but that should not be a problem for the veteran defensive tackle.
Many fans may not like the idea of keeping McCoy for 2019, due to his $13 million payout, but I for one am more than happy to have the big fella remain with the team. I do not think going to training camp would be the same without McCoy and how he interacts with the fans.
GMAC is a lot better than many give him credit for and if he were to part ways with Tampa, it would leave a monster hole that would be difficult to fill.
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported it first.
