Thoughts and Perspective

Back in the 1970’s football was truly a tough man’s league! Players hit hard, and sissy little penalties weren’t called, and a tackle was a tackle.
Another thing that younger people nowadays don’t realize is that as an expansion team the Buccaneers received the worst players possible from other teams!
Now, expansion teams get very good players.
When the 1979 Tampa Bay Buccaneers took the field, there were players on the team that, well frankly, shouldn’t have been on an NFL roster!
For John McKay and his five-year plan to take that ragamuffin bunch of players to a 10-6 record, [worst to first] and make it within one game of the Super Bowl was a Grand task in and of itself!
Now we have a coach who can take a bunch of talented players who were in my opinion under coached, and take them to the next level!
Hang in there Bucs fans the ride is just about to begin!
