I’m going to go ahead and make this a permanent column on for Bucs Life News as Gerald McCoy consistently drops Cryptic Tweets on a regular.
This time on Cryptic Tweets Gerald McCoy again hints at the possibility that he could be out in Tampa Bay.
The theme was set around week 12. There have been subtle hints from the big fella pertaining to a possible parting of ways from himself and the organization.
McCoy being due to make $13 million, makes cutting him a real possibility as they could free up cap space in doing so. Whether or not it’s a good idea is one thing, but for many fans, it’s the best idea.
With the defensive regime likely to change things up with the scheme, GMAC is rightfully concerned. Maybe even feeling a bit heartbroken.
The way negative fans have treated him, along with the possibility that the team could trade or release him, he likely feels slapped in the face.
For a man who has put his body on the line, life and limb so to speak, and done so much for the community, only to be ridiculed and abolished just for wearing his heart on his sleeve, it must be devastating to think that something he loves so much could be so quick to turn its back on him.
Bucs Life News has stated many times that McCoy deserves more than a fair shake, he deserves our respect and yours as well.
His recent Twitter posts break my heart. Not because it hits me personally, but more for the things the veteran defensive tackle has had to endure. People constantly bad mouthing him. They call him lazy or washed up, and try to prove to him that their belief he is making too much money is right. I’m glad I’m not an NFL player that not only has a big heart but plays big to boot.
Hate all you want on the big guy it won’t change the fact that Gerald McCoy has done more in his time in Tampa than most will ever accomplish in their lifetime. Take that how you want, but I know one thing for sure, that song “You’re going to miss me when I’m gone” should be played all over the radio in Tampa Bay if he is released or cut.
