With the news of Buccaneers LB Jason Pierre-Paul possibly missing time due to a shoulder injury, it seems like rookie Joe Tryon-Shoyinka will have a larger role come Sunday.
After playing through a hand injury against Atlanta on Sunday, the veteran linebacker is now listed day-to-day. Pierre-Paul flew to Colorado yesterday to get a second opinion which recommended rest.
If the Bucs are to be without Pierre-Paul this Sunday, it doesn’t mean that the defense is doomed. The team still has Tryon-Shoyinka as well as third-year OLB Anthony Nelson.
This is the opportunity for Tryon-Shoyinka to shine and show the world why he was so highly scouted by the team. In limited action this season, Tryon-Shoyinka has already shown flashes of his abilities while trying to transition himself into the professional level.
With more playing time, will the rookie make more of an impact or will the defense feel JPP’s absence?
